Parent Advisory Council, Exceptional Student Education, School District of Indian River County (Current) - Member assisting in organizing events for parents and educating parents with children in ESE.
Code of Conduct Committee, School District of Indian River County (Current) – Member of committee re-writing the Code of Conduct discipline policy for the IRCSD.
Washington State Developmental Disabilities Council (2014 – 2017) – Council Member serving on Self Determination and Leadership Committee and Membership and Governance Workgroup. Focus on public policy and advocacy for legislation pertaining to disability and special needs. Other areas of focus include special education, internal policy management, Council development and community relations and feedback.
Spokane Guilds’ School and Neuromuscular Center (2010 to 2016) – Board of Directors serving as Parent Representative and Community Representative. Responsible for School budget, staffing issues, and management of School.
Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) (2013 – 2016) – Core member organizing meetings, outreach and resources for parents of children in Spokane Public Schools special education programs. Work closely with Special Education Director and Superintendent of SPS to develop and implement goals.
Spokane County Special Needs PTA (2014 to 2016) – Founding member and Chair of Nomination Committee. Creation of long term goals and objectives for working with 14 school districts in Spokane County to better develop relationships with parents and improve programs and situations for children with special needs.
Professional Educator Standards Board – Special Education Paraeducator Committee (1 year assignment) - Responsible for implementation of Substitute Senate Bill 6129 in developing and designing specific minimum employment standards for paraeducators including professional development and educational opportunities in an effort to maximize the paraeducators in special education settings.
Arc of Spokane Advocacy Leadership Class (Fall 2012 – Spring 2013) – Participant learning the history of disability rights movement, community and state resources and systems, self-determination, legislative, advocacy and leadership training.
